Kalankini

Premise

Kalankini is an illicit relationship between an uncle and her niece who falls in love with a photographer and marries him but the uncle wants to persue the relationship which she is against. In retaliation, she shoots him and is sentenced to death by the court of the law.

Synopsis of the film

In the pin-dropped silence, the advocate's voice echoes in the court,"She is a venemous serpent in the form of a beautiful woman, not a woman… Society has her as a stigma on its forehead." She killed a god who sheltered it… Despite being a relative, he brought up her like a his child.
Neira's sobs could not appeal the soul of anyone who witnesses her death sentence in the courtroom where the Intellectual and civilised social elements weigh the facts of the truth having ignored the injustice that she has been tormented for the last 10 years but when she falls in love, she dreams of her own home, family and child and her freedom and these all her wishes turns the tide of dreams but the fetters of law imprison her for the crimes done by her uncle when she shoots for good. The sound of the rounds of bullet ends uncle and she becomes the stigma.
